Here are some helpful tips for success with stitching large designs:

Stabilize your fabric with basting stitches every 3-4 inches, both horizontally and vertically, before beginning to stitch the design. The better you control your fabric the better your results will be! Don't forget your side clamps.

Remove basting stitches as you go, right before stitching a section of the design.

If you choose to resize the design, select the entire design and resize as a whole. Don't try to resize in sections.

Stitch in rows and carefully advance through the design. Check alignment with each advance before stitching.

Add micro-quilting as desired for dramatic texture!

Dream Big Dahlia in the Morning Floral Project

This pattern is designed for the Hoffman's digitally printed "Dream Bigger Panel". This product does NOT include the fabric panel. The complete design is 108"x 108". No segment is bigger than 12" in height. This digital product can be scaled down to fit the original 42.5"x42.5" panel design. The compete design is divided up into 60 segments. Most of the segments have been divided up into two to three subsections. We have left a "buffer zone" between segments so that there is no matching of points. Fit the design in its specific area and then quilt. Stitched Samples, on the smaller 42.5" square Dahlia panel, by Jane Prestidge.
Gossypium 1 – Wholecloth Project

Gossypium is the beautiful flower of cotton plant. Default Size: 60” x 60” It contains designs for 29 segment which will all fit in 12” throat space. The right and left borders 28 and 29 respectively are divided up into 5 units each. Background texture is also included in the design. The mandala and borders used in this design are also part of Gossypium 02 which is designed for “Postcards from Sweden,” and its dimensions are 48” x 60”
